How we research
How Home Golf Sim Hub researches gear: desk research from manufacturer specifications and named independent sources, with no hands-on testing.
We research. We do not test.
This is the most important thing to know about this site: we have not physically tested any of the equipment we write about. We do not own it, we have not hit balls into it, and we have not measured it. Nothing on this site is a hands-on review, and we never describe it as one.
What we do is desk research: read what the manufacturer publishes, read what credible independent sources report, compare it, and lay it out so that a buyer can see the trade-offs in one place.
Where our figures come from
- Specifications — manufacturer specification pages, manuals and official product documentation. Where a manufacturer states a figure, we attribute it to them rather than presenting it as our own measurement.
- Prices — manufacturer and retailer listings at the time the page was last updated. Prices move constantly, so we treat them as indicative and tell you to check the current price before buying.
- Real-world behaviour — named independent sources: published reviews, teaching professionals, and user reports. Where sources disagree, we say they disagree rather than picking the answer that reads better.
- Room and space maths — calculated from published dimensions and standard swing-clearance figures. These are calculations, not measurements of your room.
What we will not do
- Invent a price, a specification, a test result or a measurement.
- Describe desk research as testing, or imply we have used a product we have not.
- Claim accuracy figures that no published source supports.
- Change a ranking or a description because a link pays a commission.
What this site is good for — and what it is not
Use our pages for building a shortlist, understanding what separates one category of launch monitor from another, checking whether a setup physically fits your room and budget, and working out which questions to ask before you spend.
Do not use our pages as a substitute for a hands-on review. For how a unit actually feels to hit into, how stable its data is over a long session, or how its software behaves day to day, go to a reviewer who has had the hardware in front of them, or to a retailer or fitting studio where you can try it yourself. We will often point you at those sources rather than pretend we can answer the question.
Updates and corrections
Pages carry a last-updated date, and we revisit them when a product is replaced, repriced or discontinued. If you find something wrong or out of date, tell us on the contact page and we will correct it or take it down.
If this ever changes — if we get hands-on access to equipment and start testing it — this page will say so explicitly, and testing claims will appear only on pages where testing actually happened.
